Promoting Novaf in Mexico - Day 6
Day 6: Novaf on the radio!
Our journey is almost over, but we are saying good-bye with a bang! We are visiting a radio station! On our last day in Mexico City we were interviewed by Radio La Pirinola, which broadcasts every Saturday at 12 o´clock for central Mexico in the 660AM frequency band. It is also known as "the citizen´s radio".
LA PIRINOLA A.C. is a civil association that encourages people with disabilities to develop their creativity and express themselves through cultural activities in order to promote social integration and streghen tolerance of "the different one" in Mexico.
Our general manager, Fernando D. Enríquez Sáenz de Santa María, was interviewed along with the general manager and marketing manager of AdaptA our partners in Mexico, Mr Gerardo Pichardo and Mr Alfredo Novela respectively.
During the conversation we discussed the activities organized by AdaptA and Novaf as a team and individually. AdaptA ia a Mexican company that covers several fields: firstly, they make hotels and other public and private buildings accessible. Secondly, they are distributors of equipment for people with disabilities or reduced mobility problems, including the Novaf catalogue. And lastly, they have a department that works as a travel agency devoted to promote Accessible Tourism.
With all these activities what we have tried to do is to raise awareness about the need for implementing policies that ease everyday life and leisure activities to those with reduced mobility problems in both the public and private sectors.
As part of this, Novaf prepared and presented a dossier named “Mexico: a report on economic profitability of Accessible Tourism”, which is available to download in PDF format from our web.
Sadly our trip was coming to an end, but our work is far from over. There is still a lot to do... We will keep you posted!
